Statement on the passing of Lady Barbara Judge

Commenting on the passing of Cifas Chairman Lady Barbara Judge, Mike Haley, Chief Executive of Cifas said:

‘It is with great shock and sadness that we learned of the passing of Lady Barbara.

‘Lady Barbara Judge was appointed Chairman of Cifas in 2016, and her extensive knowledge and contacts across industry played an invaluable part in helping us to grow our service to a broader range of organisations and to influence key stakeholders. We remain extremely grateful for her support and encouragement over the last four years, and she will be greatly missed by both myself, the Board and the wider Cifas community.

‘Lady Barbara announced last year that she intended to step down as Chairman of Cifas at the end of 2020. She agreed and supported the Board in starting the process for recruiting her successor. This process is now well advanced and we hope to update the position in the next month. In the meantime, our Senior Independent Director, Arnold Wagner, will assume the responsibilities as Acting Chair of Cifas.’
